magickal musings

I wore a new cologne to class today. The cologne is advertised for men wishing to define their own masculinity, and part of the reason I purchased it due to the resonance in the statement. I wore it in the company of connections today, to which I received compliments of looking “handsome”.  I am aware a woman, or gender fluid human can also be called “handsome”, but it does have an affinity for the male end of the spectrum, versus the personal adjective, “beautiful,” which has more often been used in feminine realms.

“Love and War (feat. Yade Lauren)” by Yellow Claw

Cut me through my skin
Through the heart, yeah, you went right in
I fell for every word you said
I come here but I can’t stay
I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know
Why some things have to be this way

We build it up to break it down
And then we’re lost until we’re found
And when we’re high further from the crown
If all is fair in love and war
I can’t do this anymore
If all is fair in love and war
I can’t do this anymore

So unfair, so unfair, so unfair to me
So unfair, so unfair, so unfair to me

You told me from the start
Nothing could tear us apart
Now when I look I see a stranger
I come here but I can’t stay
I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know
Why some things have to end this way

We build it up, build it up to break it down
And then we’re lost until we’re found
And when we’re high further from the crown
If all is fair in love and war
I can’t do this anymore
If all is fair in love and war
I can’t do this anymore

So unfair, so unfair, so unfair to me
So unfair, so unfair, so unfair to me

Get in on some illumination with me

I’m at the threshold where money is becoming involved in how I “give” to other people. Initially, I found it very hard to accept money, as I thought herbs, tinctures, wisdom, and all in that realm is priceless. It still is priceless, we all have access to it and wisdom is inherent to all of us, as it’s our birthright. However, I am learning the value of an exchange, whether it is cash, or other services.

I have a base set at $5, with options going from there.

I also have a neat little subscription service that only opens occasionally (as I can only work with so many people on a recurring basis at one time), where you get weekly readings for a month. I only have a couple of spots open. Get in for the month of March, it’s not too late.

SOAR

I had a cool experience with reversals this morning for my daily card draw. Two cards fell out, which I took to be the chosen onesof the day. I admit, I was a tiny bit upset at having to learn two cards today, instead of keeping energies singular, but today’s essence is still focused on one card, the Knight of Wands; only adding a degree of movement and a layer of life to it. “One of those days”

Ever have a period of time where nothing tasted satisfying, the music on the radio wasn’t quite cutting it, and things are just kind of blah when it comes to satisfaction? I’ve been experiencing this over the past week or so, and, honestly, I am fed up (all these puns) with the lack of earthly satisfaction, which is bleeding into my overall wellbeing. So, I did something about it.

That’s it. That’s the key: do something. If the food you’re purchasing isn’t meeting your standards, make your own meal! I find it harder to be disappointed in my own creation. If the radio isn’t quite hitting that spot, make your own playlist, and jam on!

I consulted my Rider-Waite deck, and the 4 of cups made his gloriously gloomy appearance. This card has been following me throughout my readings this year.
To me, this card speaks of stagnation, and pushing through thresholds. The young man sits, unsatisfied with what is in front of him, blind to the new gift from the heavens. Perhaps not even blind, but without room for the new gift.

Upon drawing the sequential “how can I change this” card, I drew The Sun. I’ve always had the impression that the sun vaporizes clouds away, and in that same context, stagnation. Blast it away with warmth, radiation, light, smiles, and fresh endeavors.
